Parents and potential students

Upon receiving an enquiry, we create a file that contains your details, including your contact information, gender, name, address, and the reason for seeking tuition. In order to find an appropriate tutor for your child, we will request additional information such as their name, age, date of birth, school attended, and academic profile. This is to ensure that we provide an accurate, reliable, and professional tutor introduction service, or to offer relevant education consultancy. We also ask how you found out about us, so that we can express our gratitude to those who referred you and focus our advertising efforts effectively.


We only use the personal information we collect to process your enquiry and find a suitable tutor for your child. We share some of this information with the potential tutor, but we only disclose the necessary information to make a successful introduction. Your information will be kept secure and stored in a safe environment, with access restricted according to the principle of "need to know."

Tutors and Potential Tutors

We require all prospective tutors to complete our platform onboarding. We maintain a record of data that includes your name, gender, address, schools attended, interests, work history, contact details, email address, a photograph, and age. We request detailed information about your qualifications, skills, and interests. This information is essential for us to match you with appropriate tutoring opportunities. Parents and students who you are connected with on the platform only have access to your name and picture via the platform itself. However, when we send your profile to a parent for review, we will disclose your full name and information you have provided about your qualifications and teaching experience.


We maintain a record of your bank details to facilitate payment for your tutoring services. We store sensitive data, such as your DBS certificate number, in our password-protected software. All of our tutors are required to possess a valid DBS, as we believe that it is in the legitimate interest of our business to work exclusively with tutors who can demonstrate that they have a clean criminal record.


We share necessary information about your profile and why you are a good fit for a tutoring position with the prospective parent or student. We do not generally ask for your specific consent before sharing this information, as we assume that by signing our tutor agreement, you are consenting to our use of your details in this manner. We will always exercise our discretion and provide basic information to discuss your suitability for a position with a parent or student. If the parent or student decides to proceed and arrange a meeting, call, or interview with you, we will share your basic contact information with them.

Job applicants, current and former Path/Path UK employees

At Path/Path UK, we request a copy of your CV and cover letter when applying for a role. Any personal information that an individual provides to us during the application process will only be used to evaluate their suitability for the position they are applying for, and to keep track of our recruitment statistics. In instances where we need to share an applicant's information with a third party - for example, if we need to obtain a reference or a disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service - we will always inform the applicant beforehand, unless disclosure is required by law. We will retain personal information about unsuccessful candidates for as long as necessary, and we will ensure that all such information is held securely. For employees who are hired, we will create a file that is directly relevant to their employment, and this information will be kept secure. Once an person is no longer employed by Path/Path UK, we will retain their file for three months, and subsequently delete it.

Visitors to our website

When individuals visit our website, we gather standard internet log information and analyse visitor behaviour patterns. Our purpose for doing so is to gain insight into the number of visitors to various areas of the Path/Path UK website. We obtain this information in a way that does not identify any individual. This analytical tool uses 'cookies', which are text files placed on the user's computer, to gather anonymous standard internet log information and visitor behaviour information. We process your data to serve our legitimate interest of matching tutors with parents. In the initial stages, we do not share surnames or personal contact details. However, once both tutor and student have agreed to work together, we share all contact details to enable communication for tuition purposes. All tutors undergo interviews and DBS certification checks. Parents and students provide their address details.


We may also use your data to provide the service you have requested, such as making an application on your behalf for a school or university in the UK or overseas.


We may analyse your personal data internally to identify trends in our business, such as whether a specific demographic or location is more likely to request a particular type of tutor. This data is anonymous and cannot be traced back to you.

We do not disclose your personal data to external companies.

We will make full use of your personal data to collect any outstanding debts or to inform you of any changes to our service that will affect you.


We may share limited contact information with partners who work with us to match tutors or provide academic advice that you have requested and authorised us to do on your behalf. We will only share the minimum information necessary and will do so within the legitimate interest of our business.
